Mounting Hardware
All the parts I needed came in the kit I got from Autotoys. The locking mechanism is very basic. All doors are either locked or unlocked. This isn't a problem in a car with only 2 doors, but can be annoying in a 4-door.
The hardest part of the installation was finding a place to mount the actuators so that it would be able to pull the lock rod and still be out of the way of the door panel. I tried to put the actuator behind the sheet metal, but it was too big. A compact style actuator may have fit better. The best place I found was right above the metal rods, as shown above. For the wiring, you only need to worry about power and ground. I attached the red wire to the #51 fuse under the hood.
I also referred to another install in a Miata. Check it out for further clarification: Installing Power Door Locks in the Miata
