Monthly Newsletter

Well, while the baseball season winds down, another season of Football is underway. Many of the newcomers to the gridiron are holding their own, while last year's returners seem to be using their experience to find their way to the top. Check out the Football homepage below:

Standings as of October 1, 1999:

  1. Blood Devils = 6011
  2. P'cola Playmakers = 5541
  3. Superjew = 5477
  4. Frederick Cowboys = 5369
  5. W. V. Mountaineers = 5243
  6. Omega Dogs = 4795
  7. RICH'D RENEGADES = 4530
  8. Goldstar = 4494
  9. Remington Rams = 4426
  10. Frostburg = 4392
  11. Moshville Blackdeath = 4138
  12. U. Cave Slugs = 4056
  13. Whovians = 3768
  14. Dalmatians = 3315
  15. Super Negros = 2853

The Blood Devils appear to be off to another fast start, taking the top spot in week two away from the upstart Frederick Cowboys. Meanwhile, the returning West Virginia Mountaineers, Pensacola Playmakers and Superjew all appear to be vying for the top spot.

However, the team on the move is the Omega Dogs. Moving up six spots from week one, the Dogs have only gotten better with each passing week. They could be the team to watch in the month of October.

Unfortunately, the BOB SEGER CHEVY TRUCK AWARD will have to go to the Dalmatians for falling "Like a Rock" all the way from third place in week one down to fourteenth place after week three. Let's all hope they make some good trades and get back in the running soon. Sadly, you DO NOT win a truck for this prize.

The Super Negros also got off to a rough start by not having all of their roster spots filled in week one. This invalidates your roster and results in no points for you. Hopefully they will be able to bounce back as well.

After a conversation recently with coach Legge of the Pensacola Playmakers, it has occurred to me that many of you in this league don't know each other. To help with this, I've decided to add a coach's spotlight to each issue.

This month's featured coach is:

Lee Sweet of the Moshville Blackdeath

AOL ID: Hardhead73
hometown: Silver Spring, MD
favorite athlete: Nada de particular
favorite sports team: Jacksonville Jaguars
favorite type of donut: Eclair
Something everyone should know about you: I have NO idea what I'm doing
What do you have to say to other Fantasy Sports Coaches?
You all shall perish in the presense of the BLACKDEATH!!

S. Davis- starting RB Washington

Bargain Basement Draft Pick of the month

He leads the NFL in scoring and rushing and is on your team for only $3,890,000

...and don't be afraid to have a take; tell the rest of the league why your team will kick ass this week

Seen enough? Want to go make some trades? Just go to the main fantasy football page or click on PLAY here.

Also, be on the lookout for the upcoming seasons of Fantasy Hockey and Basketball, coming this fall!!

Thanks for reading this, the second edition of my online newsletter and I look forward to seeing you all on the field.
