I live in Orlando Florida,and have lived here since 1993. I have a home which I share with my Partner in Life of 5 years. I retired from the Naval Hospital Orlando in Jan 1995 as a Navy Lieutenitant Nurse Corps Officer (RN). I hold a BSN from the Medical College of Virginia. I have two daughters ages 15 and 17 who live in North Carolina. My interests and hobbies include computers, collecting depression glass and antiques. I enjoy refinishing furniture. I collect pictures of old firehouses, trains and train stations. I enjoy the artwork of Tom of Finland. I have an extensive Chrismas Village Collection, along with ones for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Easter. I love musicals, comedies and Disney movies.
I have had a fascination with fire for as long as I can remember. As a child we are taught to fear fire, as humans, we want to tame and master fire. There is a fascisnation for me that goes well beyond the simplicity of the flame. Quite frankly I find fire extremely exciting and quite a bit of fun. I love the magic of the flickering flames, the colors, the way fire sings and dances.
Don't get me wrong, I have an intense respect for fire and a healthy fear of fire. Pyschologists tell us the best way to overcome a fear, is to confront that fear. For me, this is confronting my fear head on.
WHat I am not, is a pyromaniac or arsonist. I do not derive pleasure from causing injury or in destruction of property. I never participate in using fire in a destructive manner
