A Sonnet of Dreams

Within your dreams you find yourself some hope.
Along the way I find my ambition.
But though they don’t come true I learn to cope.
I will have to go on with my mission.
When days are dark I look outside and wish
That my dream would bring me lots of comfort.
I know that life is not a bowl of fish.
The fish is large and has the name Rupert.
Without his dream he would be in despair.
Having no dream could leave you in torment.
Your dream is what lets you keep all your hair.
You could pull it all out like a parent.
But if you do not look for the future
You could become the big geen-eyed creature.

My Dream

Within the confines of my dark abode,
I find I can, all day, just sit and dream.
To leave this place I cannot find a mode,
And so I watch and wait for some sunbeam.
The dream I have is always colorful.
Within the colors I will find my hope.
The pictures that it makes are beautiful.
When I am there I find no cause to mope.
My dreams project all of my hopes and fears.
My faith and longing are all I can wish.
For in my dream the world is bright and clear.
The darkness of my place won’t diminish
The dream I have, which is never hazy.
So, here I am strewn about lazily.
