Bruges, Belgium

Bruges, the capital of Flanders, is referred to by some as Europe's sleeping beauty. Five hundred years ago, this wealthy Renaissance town was cut off from the sea until 1907, when a second seaport was connected to the town. Today, it is the best preserved example of northern Renaissance architecture in Europe. To my untrained eye, Bruges was like a museum turned inside out.
