A surrounding cloud of anger
Encloses the city of peace
The citizens who were cloaked in harmonious colors
Turn now to colors of anger, pain and anguish
The once sonorous tones of joy and love
Transform to a clamor of accusations and epithets.
Nothing is familiar or recognizable
The Council of Elders no longer offers reasonable solutions
They distribute injustice and sow rancor in contenment's place
Families turn away from each other, everyone for himself
Friends drag up imagined incidents to hold bitter grudges
The City of Peace, renamed The City of Discord.
