Miss Universe 2000

Life! From Cyprus

Miss Universe 2000 is: Miss India

First Runner-Up is: Miss Venezuela

Second Runner-Up is: Miss Spain

The other finalists were: Miss USA Miss Canada

The semi-finalists were: Miss Colombia Miss Zimbabwe Miss Estonia Miss South Africa Miss France THOUGHTS

Cyprus was a great site!
The stage was one of the bests I've ever seen!

However, the pageant is loosing its enchantment
since a lot of important things they're taken out
of context.

First, they took out in past years the great
Parade of Nations. Now, they don't even tell the
delegate's name when presents them. Even worse,
they did not make any questions to the semi-finalists
to see how good they are, selecting the finalists
only by appearance. What were worse, the questions
in the finalists were just like an interview, in
which they did not measure the delegate's mind.
The final question was also weak.

The singer in swimsuit competition was
Elvis Crespo, From Puerto Rico.

Other artists invited were the singer Montell Jordan
and David Koz who interpreted Careless Whisper in the
Evening Gown competition. Also, the cyprus singer
Anna Vissi got her space.

The Clairol Herbal Essences Award was to:
Miss Mexico.

Miss Congeniality Award was to:
Miss Aruba.

Zoraida Fonalledas, Miss Puerto Rico,

didn't even make the top 10, but I'm not that
disappointed since a lot of favorites didn't also
make it, kind of strange this competition, the first
of the millenium. Actually, is the first time in the
last four years that Puerto Rico doesn't make it,
since 1997 Ana Rosa Brito, and 1999 Brenda Torres,
did both in the semi-finals, and 1998 Joyce Giraud
did arrive in Second Runner-Up position. Let's remember
also that in 1995, Desirée Lowry also got in the finals
representing Puerto Rico. After the triumph of
Dayanara Torres in 1993, Puerto Rico has been in the
mirror of the world.

In the pageant, it was not menctioned that next year
competition will be held in Puerto Rico, so stay tuned.

Miss Universe and Miss World

Does it match? Take a look.

The next countries got into the top ten group
in Miss World 1999 and Miss Universe 2000:

Spain
Estonia
Venezuela
South Africa
USA
India

In Miss World 1999, Miss Venezuela was the
First Runner-Up, and Miss India was Miss World.

Not different, In Miss Universe 2000, Miss Venezuela
was the First Runner-Up, and Miss India was Miss Universe.

Another analysis, in Miss Universe 1999, Miss Spain
was the Second Runner-Up, the same position for
Miss Spain in Miss Universe 2000.

So, let's stay tuned for what will happen next year!
