Mission De-Brief
At the end of the first mission, it was discovered that there had been in existence, prior to the construction of the new station, a hidden facility. It was decided to further investigate the facility in order to determine any possibility of threat to Pax Station.
Lanzeckii Orinari was left in charge of the station and also responsible for keeping track of the expeditionary team.
G'arron Akri, the first to discover the facility, led the team to the hidden base.
Once inside the structure, communications with Pax VII were lost, albeit unknown to the team. As a group, they made their way to the main control room where Captain Harun de' attempted to access the computer memory systems for possible identification of the race who built the structure. At the same time, Chief Engineer Sairenn attempted to access what she thought could be the facility's engineering room. Tirest and the rest of the security contingent made their way through the halls surrounding the control room, only to discover they were, in effect, a maze and they were returned unwittingly to the control room.
As Captain Harun de' moves across the room towards the returning security team, she accidentally trips a defence mechanism which suspends her in the geographic centre of the room. Tirest moves to assist her and is caught in the same field.
G'arron Akri is then sent back to the station to bring reinforcements. In his haste, he accidentally over-guns the ship he is using and hurls himself into space towards Vol'Indi. He decides to continue on this course to fetch help from the Volkune government, figuring (correctly) that the station is not equipped to deal with the problems faced by the team.
Telepathically, the pair learn that they have entered a base built by the Shag Toth, the Soul Hunters, and for their punishment will have their souls drained and placed inside the massive computer storage facility.
Desperately the other teams work to free the Captain and Tirest, with little success. Torquemada, a former Psi Corp agent, attempts to use his ability to gain access to the generator, which is guarded by a telepathic security defence system. It appears that the whole base is operated through telepathic means, the computer systems, mechanical devices, everything.
After agonisingly long moments battling with the defence mechanism built into the generator room, Torquemada succeeds in lowering the field and the engineering team led by Sairenn are able to gain access and shut down the generator holding V'thtashi and Tirest captive.
At the same time, creatures known as Entity arrive at the base after detecting distress from V'thtashi through their link. Entity has knowledge of the Shag Toth and work to reverse the effects and return the stolen souls to V'thtashi and Tirest. However, it was discovered that Tirest had previously met with by the Shag Toth. Entity discovers the soul portion previously stolen and restores this as well. Entity then sends a message through its link with Envoys on Vol'Indi that the crisis has passed and that re-enforcements are not needed.
Shortly after, Sairenn returns the team to the station where Tirest, V'thtashi, Torquemada (after injuries sustained in lowering the force field), and Lanzeckii are confined to the infirmary to recover.
