White water rafting has to be one of the most exciting things I have ever done. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I worked for a whitewater company for a short while. The name of it is "Sheltowee Trace Outfitters", and it is located in the Cumberland Falls area in Kentucky.(If I am correct, Cumberland Falls is the only waterfall with a moonbow ) For an affordable price you get (varying among different trips offered) relaxing or thrilling trips with an experienced guide who knows the area, all the gear you need (of course you bring your own towel, sneaker, clothes), lunch, shuttle to and from the campground and more. Below I have included a few pictures from the "Below the Falls" trip. Please do not allow your fear to prevent such an awesome experience! (Believe me, I am from the flattest part of the US and always thought it was a dangerous crazy thing until I did it!)




This is the view you see a few seconds after hittin' the water! If you look closely you will see other rafts crossing in front of the falls...where you will soon get up close and personal with it yourself....


The boat here is an inflatable version of an open kayak.(These are available)


WATCH OUT FOR THAT ROCK! STAY ON THE RIGHT! Welcome to the first good rapid on the ride, "CENTER ROCK".



These are just a few examples. There are many options from what kind of trip (will you join in on the paddling or do you want to sit back?), what degree of excitement?
