My Las Vegas Trip - July 1999
I only took a few pics on this trip...I was sick much of the time. I gambled a whole $1.75 and lost a whole $1.75! Las Vegas is like an adult amusement park...a lot of fun for adults...and also the kids.

Photo 01: Zack and me at Caesar's Palace. CP is beautiful inside...many of Las Vegas' nicer hotels are theme based these days...CP was one of the first. The architecture and interior design are all roman. There are reproductions of many famous italian sculptures throughout the hotel. There is an FAO Schwartz store that has a three story tall trojan horse...much to the delight of my son. There is also a ten foot high aquarium filled with lovely fish and a show that features talking statues and pyrotechnics. We met Cleopatra and Ceasar as they strolled through the casino.
Photos 2-5: This is a new hotel opening in September, Paris. It promises to be one of the finest hotels on the strip. Perhaps you recognize some of the architecture...I recognized the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower but was not familiar with the rest.
Photo 06: The Luxor. The theme of this hotel is...as you can tell...Egypt...around the exterior of the building are "heiroglyphs", the Sphinx and Obelisk are out front...That glass pyramid you see is actually the hotel..yes the entire hotel is made of glass. Inside the hotel you can see exact reproductions of the treasures found in King Tut's tomb...for those of us who may never get to Egypt, this is exciting!
Photos 7-10 are examples of the entertainment available for kids.
Photo 07: Circus Circus. The original kid-themed hotel on the strip. The provide circus acts throughout the day and have an enclosed amusement park. My son enjoyed the motion simulator IMAX film and the high wire acts here. They also have a legendary buffet. We ate breakfast there one time...it was very good but I would try some of the nicer hotels next time. CC is older and a bit runned down on the outside...there are newer and nicer hotels to stay at these days.
Photo 08: The World of Coke. What can I say, I'm a girl from Coca-Cola City, Atlanta...so you know I am gonna take a pic of a big bottle of coke!
Photo 09: The M&M Showcase...my son insisted on this pic...it is next door to the world of coke.
Photo 10: Excalibur. A new(er) themed hotel. This hotel is owned by the same company that owns Circus Circus...the theme is King Arthur/Knights of the Round Table. There is jousting, magic shows, people strolling the hotel in medieval costume. A fun place for the kids.
