JAVA

Java is a full programing language and its not something that a non programer can pick up and start working with. It requires special development tools and sound programing knowledge. Jaca files are mini programs called Applets, and they are embedded into pages. Java can be used to create anything from simple games to fully featured programs, which can download themselves to your computer and run inside your browser.

However JAVASCRIPT code can be put into web pages alongside HTML.
Unless your truly either adventurous or a masochist cut and paste is the way to go with Java Script

There lots of applets that do things like, give the impression a button is being depressed on the screen and to giving the time is your time zone and that of the viewer. Also countdown clocks to specific events and lots more.

Some of the more fancy are special classes of java and require that that file is uploaded to your server, so it knows what to do. One which you will most likely have seen is the "ripple" or "lake" applet which creates an effect that the GIF image is reflected of rippling water.
In fact to much to mention here. Try some of the links below these are pages of Java and HTML links
As always, try it on experimental pages first. Its not quite that easy for the novice, so read any documentation carefully.
