My resume is here
My interests include Html and Web Page Design, along with creating my own graphics.   My first efforts in design began with Arachnophilia and simple pages like those at AngelFire.   With a fairly thorough knowledge of html and the addition of Photoshop to my software arsenal, my pages are hopefully taking on a more efficient look.   As is evident by the splash page here at Geocities, Star Trek is prominent in many of my designs.   I try to have a creative mix and yet a clean, easy to read apperance on pages like this where content is a little more important.
Of my many interests, love of science fiction began in the late sixties with novels by Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clarke and the dozens of other authors that published anything sci-fi.   An interesting note here is the fact that they were mostly considered fringe element at the time and now we consider them classic and visionary in scope and detail.   The genre has become mainstream now, and respect for most of the authors I read then has taken its place along with authors in other fields.   More people now know that Isaac Asimov was also an author of pure math text books as well as The Foundation Trilogy.   Also Arthur C. Clarke, inventor of the telecommunications satelite also wrote the 2001/2010 series of classic novels.   My fasination continues today with television shows like the X-Files, Farscape, Earth...Final Conflict, Star Gate SG-1 and The Next Wave.
Collecting comics, mostly Marvel Comics, featuring Jack Kirby art is something that Jeremy and I share an avid interest in.   Although JZ's taste is more contemporary, mine stemmed from the late 60's and early 70's.   My collection includes The Fantastic Four, IronMan, Captain America and The Hulk.   Also a near mint copy of Conan #1 and the first print edition of The Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" ( now worth many hundreds of dollars each ).
I have been captivated by an urge to create my own art since my early days of comics collecting.   I began to create a few pieces that are actually presentable in the late 70's and early 80's.   I started out with just pencil drawings and progressed to "Pen and Ink" versions with the advent of the cheap radiograph pen like architechs use.   The ones I brought to Ohio with me have been scanned and are featured in the Graphics section at Fortune City.
Another interest in my life, as with that of any generation, is my music.   I have played the guitar since the age of 13.   The major influence of my skills were brought about by the ballads and folk music of the late 60's and early 70's.   Rock music was just beginning to dominate and so it did in my life also.   My favorite music includes The Beatles, Crosby Stills and Nash, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, James Taylor and Simon & Garfunkle.   The 70's were dominated by ZZ Top, Led Zepplin, AreoSmith, and BlackFoot.   Today my music also includes Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, The Judds -- (from this area of southern Ohio ) and the ballad type music that was prevelent in my early years.
In the winter of 1988 I decided to go back to school and learn a profession that would keep me out of the cold and harsh climate of construction work that I had known for most of my life.   I enrolled in the "Industrial Electronics" course at the "Oil Belt Vo-Tech" school in ElDorado, Arkansas.   I started in the middle of the course, my entrance exams providing enough proof that I was capable of staying up with the class.   I ended up in the top of my class, with a 3.92 grade average and several awards and certificates.   I went to work for a local electronics repair company in El Dorado and worked there from Sept. 1990 until Oct. 1998, at which time I fell in love with Clara on the internet and moved to Ohio.   Other than not finding a really good job in this area, that pretty well brings you up to date with
