Midi:
Memories!

This is for my mother, Barbara Ericksen, who passed away on
23 Nov. 1997. She is sorely missed by all of her children
and her husband. May she never be forgotten.
This page has some of the things that she enjoyed in her life.

This is my mother in her youth.
She was born 13 June 1931 to Gale Thomas Watson and
Mable Lillian Grossmeyer. In this photo she had skinned knees while
roller skating just before it was taken.

Mother always believed in angels.
She liked to have pictures of them around. I would often
find one tucked away somewhere that she had forgotten.

These are my mother's parents, Gale Thomas Watson
who was born on 1 Mar. 1893 and died
15 Oct.1952. He worked at Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan
and his wife, Mable Lillian Grossmeyer. She was born on 5 Nov.1893
and died on 17 Nov.1976. My grandfather was once offered a job
playing with the Detroit Tigers back in the late 1930's but the
pay was not exactly what it is today and seeing that he had a family to
take care of he opted to stay with Dow. My grandmother never worked but
she was a Red Cross Volunteer during the war. She was a fantastic
lady and a wonderful grandmother. I wish that I had been able
to know my grandpa and I wish even more that they both could
have met my children.

My mother met my father while they were teaching
in Coleman, Michigan. My mother told me that she thought
that he was too skinny and took him home to feed
him and he never left! LOL. Robert Herman Ericksen and Barb
were married on Aug. 28, 1960 in Coleman, Michigan. My mother
was married once before and had a little girl, my sister Lee,
and after our parents were born there came me, my brothers Jon and Gale.
I hope to have pictures of all of us in here soon.
This picture was taken on my parents 25th wedding anniversary.

Beautiful Angel

            Beautiful angel flying up above,
Are you peeking at the one you love?
Or do you sing with your soprano voice
Helping God and other angels to rejoice?

I wish, lovely angel, I could fly with you
To help me through the sorrow too.
To help me see your precious love,
To fly like an eagle or a dove.

I guess I must finally understand...
Even some angels must stay on land.

The love of my Mother's life was most definitely
her grandchildren. They are, from left to right, Matthew,
Jon Robert, April and Amanda sitting on the floor.
As you can see she is in her full joy with her "babies". They miss
her alot. There are two more that I have to get photos of.
They are Develin and Jessica.

Please check out these sites I have added here
because they could help a special family member or yourself to better
understand cancer and heart trouble if it is in your family. Thank-you.
