Poetry

These are a few poems that I like, some are written by friends and others are ones that I have found and liked.

To Be With You

To be with you and to look in your eyes,
To be with you and quietly hold you in my arms,
The only sound would be our breath together.
To walk around the park for hours on end,
Just hearing your soft voice and the warmth
Of your body next to mine.
To dance with you would seem as if we were
Walking on clouds, wishing it to never stop.
To hear your voice so soft and soothing almost
Lulling me to sleep while leaning against you!
Never would I want anything else but to be with you.

To Walk Alone

To walk alone is to stand alone,
One wolf walks alone into the night,
For the lone wolf stands with pride,
For all he has achieved in his life,
Because no one stands in his way or by his side.

If a child lives with criticism,
He learns to condem.
If a child lives with hostility,
He learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule,
he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame,
He learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance,
He learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement,
He learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise,
He learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairnes,
He learns justice.
If a child lives with security,

If a child lives with approval,

A Sweetgrass Prayer

Creator, maker of all that is good,
I wash my eyes to see the beauty of all creation,
I wash my mouth so that I choose my words with care,
I wash my hands to create and be gentle,
I was my legs so they'll be strong to carry me through life,
and I wash my heart to be kind, loving and forgiving
all my relations.
