Dawson is the typical only child and has what had seemed to be the perfect life. He is a big-time film fanatic, and his role-model is Steven Spielberg. You could say that his an
aspiring director. His life had altered its' course big time when he found out his mother had been having extra-marrital affairs with her co-anchor. At the same time, he just got dumped by Jen, the then-love of his life. He had kind of been "fighting" over Joey with Pacey for a while. Dawson had her
kind of on layaway, where he couldn't date her- but yet no one else could either. All that changed after he saw Joey in another light in the pageant.
All that Dawson needed to convince him that it was Joey that he really wanted, was to see her all dolled up. At the pageant she had her hair done up, and was in a dress for a change. (She looked absolutely gorgeous). Dawson was left breathless, and rather stunned. He had tried to tell her his feelings, but they had just come out in the wrong way and time. In the season finale Jen wants Dawson back badly, but he seems to have his mind
elsewhere. Things heated up between Dawson and Joey when they kiss for the first time in Dawson's bedroom.
The happy couple was headed for trouble when their summer romance got a little hot and heavy for Joey and she broke things off shortly after school started. Also, Jen teamed up with rich-bitch Abby to try to steal Dawson back. The two are now on a "friends" basis.
