SCENE 1 (On a beautiful sunny afternoon in Miami. In the lobby of The Golden Palace, Blanche is getting off the phone behind the desk and Rose and Sophia are sitting on the couch)

Blanche: Guess What? Dorathy is comeing for a visit this weekend!

Rose: Wonderful!

Sophia: My Pussycat is comeing!

Blanche: She just called and made a reservation. Only, she is comeing alone. Lucus is too busy to come.

Rose: Well then, this will give us some quality time with her.

SCENE 2 (In the lobby of The Golden Palace, Rose is behind the desk. The phone rings)

Rose: Golden Palace?...Alright...this weekend...from friday to monday...thank you very much. I will go ahead and enter your reservation. Bye.

(Blanche walks in from the office)

Blanche: Who was that?

Rose: She said her name was Brady. Carol Brady. She was making a reservation for nine people.

Blanche: Well then, that settles it! We have no vacancy this weekend.

SCENE 3 (In the Kitchen. Chuy and Sophia are in there)

Chuy: Hey Sophia, have you spoken to Blanche about getting extra help in here? The restaurant has been so busy that orders are slow because there are so many!

Sophia: Good grief! I don't think its that much. And, I am not even the official cook here!

Chuy: Uh huh!

SCENE 4 (On a beautiful Friday evening in the Lobby of the Golden Palace. The sun is coming in through the front door and the windows and Dorathy walks in Blanche is turned around at the desk facing the mail slots arranging some flowers)

(Dorathy rings the bell)

Blanche: Yes? Well Dorathy! Hello! (Comes around the desk and gives her a hug)

(Rose walks down the stairs and to the desk)

Rose: Well I thought I heared a familar voice! Dorathy! (They hug)

Dorathy: Oh, it is so good to be with you two again!

(The bell for the Elevator rings and Sophia walks out)

Sophia: Pussycat! Dorathy! My baby! (Hugs her)

Dorathy: Oh Ma! I love you!

Sophia: And I you!

Blanche: Well lets get you settled in.

Dorathy: Good Idea! I have been driving since five this morning. I could use a rest.

SCENE 5 (In the lobby later in the evening. Rose is behind the desk checking in a guest when Blanche walks in from the office).

Blanche: Well hello there! Checking in?

Guest: Yes.

Rose: Mr. Brady, this is Blanche Devereaux. Another one of the owners.

Mr. Brady: Well, this is a beautiful place.

Blanche: Beat it Rose. So, Mr. Brady, I see you are in 205. Rose Nylund! What are all thease other keys doing here?!

Rose: He has more than one room.

Mr. Brady: I have a big family.

Blanche: Oh...married. Take it Rose.

Rose: Mr. Brady, sign in here. (Hands him all the keys) Mr. Brady, enjoy your stay with us at The Golden Palace and your visit to Miami.

Mr. Brady: Thank you.

(The rest of the family walks in)

Carol Brady: Mike. Here you are.

Mike: Carol, this is Blanche Devereaux and Rose Nylund, the owners at the hotel.

Carol: Hello! This is our house keeper, Alice, our sons, Peter, Greg, and Bobby, and our daughters, Jan, Marcia, and Cindy.

The Kids: Hi.

Rose: Hello!

(Sophia and Dorathy come down the stairs)

Sophia: Blanche! Rose! I didn't know you had a bunch of kids visiting here!

Blanche: Its a family.

Sophia: Huge family. It was a shame back in Sicilly that huge families...

Dorathy: OH MA!!!!!!!!! Don't mind her! Sorry about that.

Mike: Oh no. Thats alright.

Dorathy: I am Dorathy Zbornak. A friend of the owners.

Mike: Hi. I am Mike Brady. This is my wife Carol.

Carol: Hello. (They shake hands) Nice to meet you.

Dorathy: Thank you.

Alice: Mrs. Devereaux. I see you have a help wanted for the restaurant for the weekend. I would be glad to voulenteer.

Blanche: Thank you! Mrs. Brady, how good is her food?

Carol: Exellant!

Blanche: Then its settled. Alice, I will take you back to the kitchen and introduce you to Chuy, our chef.

SCENE 6 (In the Kitchen. Chuy and Roland are in there)

(Blanche, Dorathy, Sophia, and Alice walk in)

Blanche: Hi Roland. Chuy, this is Alice. She has voulenteered to work for you this weekend.

Chuy: Great! Hello Alice.

Alice: Hi. I shall start immedeatly. (She puts on an apron)

SCENE 7 (In the lobby in the evening Blanche is behind the desk and Dorathy is sitting in the lobby reading)

Blanche: Hey Dorathy, what do you say the four of us go out to dinner tonight?

Dorathy: Sounds great! I'll go tell Ma and Rose.

(She pushes the button to go up the elevator. The elevator bell rings and the doors open and Rose is in there wearing a Pink apron and she has a cart of towls)

Rose: Hi Dorathy.

Dorathy: Hi Rose. Blanche want to go out to dinner tonight. Are you free?

Rose: Sure.

Dorathy: Great. (She steps into the elevator) I'll go tell Ma. (The elevator closes)

SCENE 8 (In the dinning room at The Golden Palace. It is very busy. Chuy, Alice, and Sophia are standing by the kitchen door)

Chuy: Alice, that salad you made for that man over there. He has had it for 5 minutes and has touched it only once.

Alice: I guess he maybe isn't hungry.

Chuy: It can't be that.

Sophia: What can it be then?

Chuy: I don't know.

Alice: I'll go check on him.

(Alice walks over to the table)

Alice: Hello sir. Enjoying your salad?

Man: Lady, this salad is too plain!

Alice: What?

Man: You heared me. Its too plain!

(Sophia walks over)

Man: Hey Grandma! This salad is too plain!

Sophia: Who are you calling Grandma?!

Man: I don't see anyone else over here with grey hair and wrinkles?

Alice: Shall I bring you a new salad?

Man: No! Its awful!

Alice: Alright. Let me know if you change your mind.

Man: Yeah right!

(Alice, Sophia, and Chuy walk back into the kitchen)

Alice: People can be so cruel.

Sophia: I know.

Chuy: Wait! Alice, what did you put in that salad?

Alice: I added extras of everything for extra flavoring.

Chuy: Why?

Alice: Well.... (Shouting is heared from the restaurant)

(Alice, Chuy, and Sophia walk out there)

(Four men and three women look over at Alice, Chuy, and Sophia)

Man 1: Chefie! Lady! Grandma! Get over here?

Sophia: You talking to me?

Man 1: I don't see any other grey heads with wrinkles over there!

Alice: I guess I am lady.

Chuy: I guess I am chefie.

Sophia: What is it....sunnie?!

Man 1: You talking to me?

Sophia: I don't see any other sunnies over here.

Chuy: Don't make a scene Sophia.

Alice: Is it that Salad?

Man 1: Its awful!

Man 2: Revolting!

Man 3: Sickning!

Man 4: Discusting!

Man 5: Yuckie!

Woman 1: Gross!

Woman 2: Terrable!

Woman 3: Your supposed to clean the veggies before you feed them to us!

Alice: I am sorry! Do you want a new salad?

All men and women: No!

Chuy: Alice, can I see you in the kitchen?

(In the kitchen)

Chuy: Why did you?

Alice: I thought it would bring extra flavor. The Brady's like it.

Chuy: But they aren't the Brady's

Alice: I know that.

Chuy: Alice, I am going to have to find someone else. Go.

(Alice walks out)

Sophia: I can't believe you did that!

Chuy: Yeah, well, I will not have that many upseat restaurant patrons!

Sophia: I have always like extra flavor.

SCENE 9 (In the lobby. Roland is behind the desk. Blanche, Rose, and Dorathy are sitting on the couch in the lobby reading)

(Alice walks in)

Blanche: Alice!

Rose: I thought you were back in the kitchen.

Alice: Chuy fired me!

Blanche: What?

Dorathy: You heared the woman! Chuy fired her!

Alice: Its true. I might as well tell you the truth. I put extra flavoring in some salads and several restaurant patrons complained.

Rose: Thats alright. We are glad you told us.

Alice: I just feel humliated.

(Roland comes out and sits down)

Roland: The salads need extra flavering anyway! I have said before that they were plain!

Blanche: People have such odd tastes!

(Carol Brady walks in the front door)

Carol: Alice! I thought you were working!

Rose: She got fired!

Carol: What?

Alice: Its true.

Carol: Why?

Alice: I added extra flavoring to the salads and we got some complaints. But Blanche and Rose say that there is not enough flavoring in the salads here anyway.

Rose: Its ok. I believe I have told you that I am from St. Olaf, Minnasota.

Alice: Why, yes you have.

Rose: Well back in St. Olaf, Millie Glickstonvilenstruner added extra flavoring to a salad in St. Olafs fineast restaurant.

Carol: Come again?

Dorathy: Carol, she tells these St. Olaf stories that make no sense and serve no purpose and drive everyone nuts but she works them in anyway.

Alice: Keep going:

Rose: Well, Millie was St. Olaf's finnast Gourmayet cook and she added extra to a salad. There were these pigs eyes and the whole town got mad....

Dorathy: ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! SHUT UP! I'VE HEARED ENOUGH!!! ITS BORING BORING BORNING STUPID...

Blache: Shut up Dorathy!

Alice: Its ok. But, I am humilited just the same.

Dorathy: Now you see?

Alice: Say, where is Mike?

Carol: He is out at the pool with the kids.

SCENE 10 (Late at night in the hotel dinning room after they have gone out to dinner Blanche is sitting in there. She is in her night gown)

(Rose walks in from the kitchen also in her night gown)

Blanche: I thought that was you Rose.

Rose: Whats wrong?

Blanche: Oh, I just feel bad about what Chuy did to Alice.

(Dorathy and Sophia walk in and sit down)

Sophia: We couldn't sleep.

Dorathy: I could sure use some cheesecake.

Rose: I'll go get it.

(Rose walks out in to the kitchen)

Dorathy: Gosh, this is like old days. When the four of us use to sit in our kitchen at our house and eat cheesecake late at night. Except now, we are in a hotel restaurant.

Sophia: Yeah.

(Rose walks back in and starts serving cheesecake)

Dorathy: Mmm.

Blanche: Its so nice that the four of us are togeather like this right now.

Rose: Yes.

Sophia: We talked over lots of things over cheesecake. Like dates we went on, things we have done, etc.

Blanche: It just makes me so mad what Chuy did to Alice! I am so mad, that I could screem!...WRAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dorathy: Shut up Blanche! Its two in the morning! Do you want angry hotel guests complaining about disturbances in the middle of the night?

Blanche: Alright! Alright!

SCENE 11 (On the oceanfront porch of the hotel, Blanche, Rose, Dorathy, and Sophia are having breakfast with Roland, Mike, Carol, and Alice).

Alice: These are good pancakes!

Sophia: Thanks! I made them.

Alice: I liked the food here.

Rose: Well, we have to convince Chuy, to let you back in for the rest of the weekend.

Alice: Thats ok.

Carol: Thank you for caring Rose.

Mike: Where are the kids?

Carol: They are upstairs.

Mike: Alice, can you go tell them to come down for breakfast.

Alice: Sure.

(Alice walks into the hotel and up the stairs)

Blanche: Well, this is your last day in Miami. What are your plans?

Carol: Well, we plan to spend the day on the beach and in the pool.

Blanche: That sounds nice.

(Marcia and Jan walk out on to the porch)

Carol: Hi!

Marcia: Hi Mom. Hello Mrs. Devereaux, Mrs. Nylund. How are you Mrs. Patrillo? Mrs. Zbornak?

Sophia: Pretty good this morning.

Dorathy: Hello.

Blanche: Your mom was just telling us that you go to the pool. What do you think of our pool?

Marcia: I like it.

Jan: That lemonade they serve out there is really good.

Blanche: Well, thank you!

(Cindy, Bobby, Peter, and Greg walk out on to the porch)

Greg: Hi mom. Hi dad.

Mike: Hi.

Carol: Good morning.

Peter: Good morning.

Cindy: Mrs. Nylund, I like your pool.

Rose: Thank you. Jan and Marcia were just telling Blanche that they liked the pool too.

Bobby: Lets eat! Those pancakes look good.

Sophia: Thank you. I made them myself.

(Bobby eats one)

Bobby: Very good.

Sophia: Thank you.

Roland: So, have you all enjoyed your stay at The Golden Palace?

Carol: Very much.

Roland: Great!

(Chuy walks out and Alice walk out)

Chuy: Blanche, Rose, Sophia, Roland? I am bringing Alice back into the kitchen for the last day.

Everyone: Wonderful!

Alice: Chuy, I am sorry for causing so much trouble. (laughing)

Chuy: Thats alright.

Carol: I guess everyone got something out of this stay!

Rose: Well, thats great Carol!

Dorathy: I am so glad things have worked out!

Sophia: Your telling me!

SCENE 12 (A day later, in the lobby, The Brady's and Dorathy are checking out. Blanche and Rose are behind the desk and Sophia, Roland, and Chuy are standing in the lobby)

Blanche: Did you enjoy your stay?

Mike: We sure did.

Rose: I hope Alice did good in the kitchen.

Alice: I did.

Chuy: With my help.

(Mr. Brady hands Blanche the room key)

Mike: Thank you ladies. This has been a great stay! The next time we come to Miami, we are choosing The Golden Palace.

Blanche: Thank you. And Thank you for choosing The Golden Palace and have a great day. And a safe trip home!

Carol: Thank you.

Rose: Goodbye.

Alice: Goodbye Chuy. Rose, Blanche, Sophia. It was nice meeting you Dorathy.

Dorathy: A pleasure!

Carol: Goodbye.

(The Brady's walk out the front door)

Dorathy: What nice people.

Blache: Well, I gues this is goodbye for you too.

Dorathy: I am afraid so. Here is the key.

(Blanche slowly takes it and puts it in the mail slot and then she and Rose come around the desk)

Sophia: One group hug!

The Girls: Mmm.

Sophia: I love you Pussycat!

Rose: Goodbye Dorathy.

Blanche: Goodbye.

Dorathy: I will come back soon!

(Dorathy walks out)

Sophia: So what now?

Rose: Lets play The St. Olaf game! (Smiles)

Blanche: Cheesecake! Come on Roland! Chuy?

Rose: Good idea!

Sophia: Great!

Roland: Come on man.

Chuy: Ok.

(The cast walks from the lobby and exits through the restaurant)
