Those of you who have met me in
person might have noted that I always wear a small
gold charm of a snowflake around my neck. While I do
enjoy the snow, there is a deeper meaning that I
would like to share with all of you now.
You see when I was five I had a wonderful kindergarten teacher. We always had lots of fun in Mrs. Torsen's class (it was kindergarten after all...), but we also learned a thing or two along the way. One day our project was to cut snowflakes from pieces of paper to decorate the classroom windows. Well, I or one of the other students must have been upset about the way our snowflake turned out. She quickly explained that there was nothing what so ever wrong with any of the snowflakes! She told us that our snowflakes where just like us...‘Each one different from the next and each one perfect!’
I received the charm many years later as a gift from my staff. They, of course, had no idea of it's significance to me until I told them of it that day. The moment I saw it, the memory came rushing back to me. I have worn it ever since...
I share this story with you now to help explain a bit of who I am and how I think. My friends make this easy for me to remember, my job in retail sometimes makes it slightly more challenging....:-} Still, I like to think that we each have something unique to contribute to this universe.
I'll come down off of my soap box now and share with you a few of the great sights that some of my web friends have sent me.
Many of you know Vodka-girl already, so
it will
not surprise you to learn that she has sent me some
great sites... This first one is in honor of Crutch
who loves to get cards~~~as much as we love to send
them! ![]()
She also sent me a great
sight for anyone
who would, like me, doesn't like to be limited to the
English language. This one is a great translation
service!
Then again I still have
trouble with
English,
so she sent me this 'nifty' spell check page!
Brassy-Babe sent me this next one. It is
one of my favorites, hope you enjoy it too!
The last sight (for now) was sent to me by
Beanlet. If you are ever lost and need directions,
whether across town or accross the country, this
sight will get you there!
(*please note this sight
was not designed to
help you find yourself, nor your lost youth, nor your
lost mind...I already tried! :-} hehehe)
Well, as you can see, I have another new site to
add. :-} This one was sent to me by both Coco and by
Chatty. I guess they both knew I would love this
sight. :-} It is full of optical illusions of all
sorts and claims to be one of the best on line!
Well, you
will get no arguments from me on that score, but
don't take my word for it, go judge for yourselves.
:-}
If you have any cool or unusual sight that you
think I should add, I would love to hear from you!
