I wanted to say a little about my parents..Being their page and all..My Father has been in sales for the last 21 years that I can remember..
He used to run the Grain Elevators in our home town of Egremont,Alberta..We then moved to the Big City..
Mom worked as a waitress for as many years as I can remember. She then got into the Housekeeping department at the local Hospital..
She now works for the Canadian Legion..She likes her job and makes good money and makes a lot of friends..
I also must mention that my Parents raised Four boys..Two of us are married while the other two are Divorced..Ironically the two youngest are the ones married now..Go figure..
The Family got some very BAD news Friday May 21, 1999. We got terrible news that My Father has both Lung Cancer and Bone Cancer. The Lung Cancer is in the 4th stage. The bone cancer seems to be spreading from his left wrist and leg to his right leg.
He has an appointment with the Cancer Institute on Wednesday and we hope they will begin the Chemotherapy right away and make it an aggressive attack. I want my Father around for as long as he can be.
Me and my wife are spending as much time with my parents as we can at present. Terry and I are hoping that the Chemo will help in any way that it can.
Can you do me and my family a favor by saying a prayer for us. Thank you so much..

My Father has finally started to get treatment at the Cross Cancer Institute. He received his first Radiation treatment and is scheduled for more.
I learned the other day from him and from surfing the net on Cancer, that Radiation is only used to ease the pain.It bothers me that they are unable to do anything for the Bone Cancer.
My Father will also start getting Chemo very soon.We held Father's Day for my father on Sunday May 6, 1999 because we do not know how long he will be with us and we did not want this day to go by.
We all Love My Father.I just wish they had started to treat him two months sooner than they did.

My Father fell outside the house today and broke his left leg. Mom called the ambulance and then all the fun started. Three hospitals could not take him because they were in Code Red. This means they were not accepting any patients. They had to go to the hospital which is in a neighboring city.
He then was transferred to another hospital later tonight in the city. His leg is in traction awaiting surgery to have pins put in his leg.

My Mother called this morning with word that my Father will be operated on tomorrow. I wish like hell that they would make up there minds as to what they are doing. It is very frustrating the way they are waisting time deciding what to do. Me and Terry took Dad a nice pot of striped roses yesterday. He in turn had a package of cheese for Terry. She just loves her cheese.

Well my Father had his operation on his leg Friday June 11. He is doing really good. Me and Terry were up to visit him today and he was doing real good. He is bloated for some reason and the doctors limited his 24 hour fluid intake to 16 ounces of water. They hope he will get relief soon.
Dad wanted Mom to stay at the Hospital over night last night. She was worn out this afternoon, getting waked up everytime the nurses came in to check Dad overnight. She was going home to sleep tonight though. She needs some rest.
It is not Dad's fault , but he is very demanding right now. This is mostly caused by the Morphine they are giving him for pain. They are now weaning him off of it before he goes home. My Father is one strong man. It will be great to have him back home.

It has been a while since i updated this. I have been so busy. My whole Family was up to see Dad in the hospital on Father's Day. I think he was happy about that. My brother Aaron brought up a cake and we all had some with Dad.
Dad has been doing pretty good. He does not like wearing his Oxygen mask at all. Mom called today and told me that the doctors were doing a blood test and taking another x-ray. They fear that his Cancer may have moved up to his brain. I certainly hope that it has not.
