Has sometimes been said             
When great poetry
And plays have been read

But I need no poem
And I need no play
All I need is my heart 
To tell me I feel this way

I would rather spend my time thinking of her
Then I would want to spend my time with anyone else
I would rather go for you, with no chance at all
Then go for a girl who I know wants to be with me

It's been over two years since I first looked into her eyes
I'm still hopelessly lost even when I just think of her name
I tried being with others, but to her there was no comparison
I was a fool to even try, because nothing I do gets her off my mind

I've spent so much time with her on my mind
I thought I was strong and would never need another
Ever since I've been without her I know this isn't true
I've spent so many days trying so hard to get through

Wether she knows it or not, she helps me through each day
Not be being there, though I wish she was
But by being a reason to excel in all I do
Hoping maybe there is a way to impress her

Until I can find that way I'll just live my life day by day
Spending all of my time, with her on my mind
Awed by the beauty and great personality of hers
Still dreaming of the day I might win her over

The day will probably never arrive, but just the thought
Or slight chance is enough reason to keep me going
Wether I win her back or not, I'd rather live with memories of her
Then to replace them with those of another
