You may think you know
and many others might too
but she is the only one.
Asking can give delight
or ruin any hope.
The agony of wondering
versus the pain or rejection.
The decision is made
but the question is hard to ask
Seeing her lovely face
makes your heart changed its pace.
You want to but cannot ask.
Roses are a brilliant gift
and also stop you backing out.
They worked you managed to ask
but alas your fears come true.
The rejection hurts
and you think she hates you.
You still love her
but sensibly can't hope.
Depression hits in as you travel home.
Alone, unloved but loving her still.
Should I have asked?
