The Friend I Love

When ever I see you all my sadness departs,
I don't even have to talk to you,
But talking makes me even happier,
There is something about you I just can't place,
But whatever it is, I love it dearly.

Its not just your smile,
And not just your eyes,
Though your hair is lovely,
Its not that either,
But having all those makes you great.

Other things can make me happy,
And I find other people quite nice,
However without you I can't be happy,
You give me ultimate happiness,
Even from the briefest of glances.

The friendship you give me,
Has indescribable value to me,
I'm trying to think of you as I would another friend,
And am sorry for when I don't.

I wish I knew which you would prefer,
To hide my feelings from you,
Or to be more relaxed,
And appear as someone who madly loves you,
I guess I'll never know,
But as we are still friends it doesn't seem to matter.
