You Are My Sunshine

You are the Sun,
and I am the Earth,
Without you I have no life,
I am in orbit around you,
At times quite close,
And at others further apart,
It is the light you give,
That brightens me up.

Like a man on the Earth,
Your light is hidden at night,
Making him long deeply for day,
He finds you beautiful,
But mustn't stare,
After looking at you,
Your bright image remains in his eyes.

Looking at the night sky,
He sees many other stars,
Yet, no matter how bright they are,
The finest star he's ever seen,
Is you, the Sun.
