 Sproat Lake is located approximately 5 km west of Port Alberni on the Pacific Rim Highway #(4). Just minutes from here you can enjoy a cocktail on the outdoor deck, overlooking the lake, at our neighborhood "Fish and Duck Pub." A short stroll from your room will take you down to the lake and you can enjoy yourself at a quiet beach with picnic tables, diving board and docking facilities. Or just enjoy the view of Mt. Klitsa and the lake from your deck. Sproat Lake is home of the famous Mars Water Bombers. They effectively douse up to 40 forest fires a year. Sproat Lake and the Sproat River are great fishing spots for Rainbow Trout, Kokanee, Cutthroat, Sockeye Salmon, and Steelhead Trout (In season), not to mention the dozen of lakes in the area offering great opportunities for fly fishermen. Fishing charters, day trips on the M.S. Lady Rose and boat rides can all be arranged. For those who love golf, a 9 hole course and a full 18 hole golf course are available in Port Alberni. There's literally miles and miles of trails for hikers, mountain bikers and nature lovers alike. It's all here at the gateway to the Pacific Rim National Park. |
