This is an entertainment center that I recently created;

A client came to me with a photograph of an entertainment center which she liked, and told me "it needs to be much bigger to fit into this opening in the wall and it needs to accomodate a 35" television".  This is the product of that resizing effort. This unit is made completely of Alder.

The unit actually sits into the wall about 14 inches. It features pocket doors on the top center cabinet which open and push back to clear the television.  The television is mounted on a slide which pulls out 10" and swivels.

There are rope lights built into the back of the cabinet facing which light the interior of the side cabinets. A lot of detail was added to the cabinets. The crown molding was custom. The carvings which are applied at the tops of the openings are the only things we didn't make ourselves. The beadboard inside the side cabinets were made in our shop.

The shelves in the left cabinet are devoted to media storage and are mounted on slides for easy access.  The shelves on the right side carry the stereo components and are also on full extension slides for access to the cabling etc.

This photograph is included just as indication of scale. The unit is approximately 8.5 feet tall and 9 feet long. By the way, that's me posing with the completed project.
