How They Became Super Saiya-Jins

First of all, I would like to give credit to Ashok's Dragonball Z Page. He provided all the info below. Before telling you who and when the characters went SSJ (Super Saiya-Jins) you need to have an understanding of what it is and what the levels are. A SSJ is a form reached by Saiya-Jins. It is the rank that is the difference between average warriors and supreme warriors. The levels are as follows:
  • Level 1: In this stage the Saija-Jin changes almost completely. His hair turns blonde and spikes up and his eyes change to green or blue. He also becomes much stronger.
  • Level 2: His hair grows a little longer and it remains blonde. His eye-brows grow and get a little smaller. He also becomes stronger.
  • Level 3: A big change occurs in this level. His hair is very long, down to his ankles and is still blonde. His eye brows are gone. He becomes very strong and muscles are seen everywhere.
  • Level 4: The last level. He grows hair everywhere and it is black. He grows his tail back. His appearance is evil. He becomes half monkey half Saiya-Jin. It is said not to be a true level and happens first in DBGT.

    • Name: Goku

    Lvl 1: In the Freeza Saga, Freeza kills Krillin which angers Goku causing him to go Super Saiya-Jin.

    Lvl 2: When he is training in the afterlife.

    Lvl 3: When he is training in the afterlife.

    Lvl 4: In DBGT in the Baby Saga, Goku gets his tail pulled out, he turns Oozaru then Ougon Oozaru (Golden Giant Monkey) form. When he sees his granddaughter (Pan) crying, it triggers him to go Super Saiya-Jin 4.

    Name: Vegeta

    Lvl 1: When he was training in the Gravity Room, he became very strong but not strong enough. He becomes very angry at himself which triggers the transformation.

    Lvl 2: He reaches this stage while being Majin Vegeta

    Lvl 3: Never Did.

    Lvl 4: He cheated for this stage. Bulma created a brute ray which made Vegeta go SSJ Lvl 4.

    Name: Future Trunks

    Lvl 1: In the T.V. Special "Resist Despair!! The Ultimate Surviving Fighters...Gohan and Trunks", when Gohan dies, Trunks gets mad and goes Lvl 4.

    Lvl 2: Never did.

    Lvl 3: Never did.

    Lvl 4: Never did.

    Name: Gohan

    Lvl 1: When training in the Spirit Room, he got angry that he couln't help his friends. This made him go SSJ.

    Lvl 2: When Cell killed Android #16.

    Lvl 3: Never Did.

    Lvl 4: Never Did.

    Name: Chibi-Trunks

    Lvl 1: While training, he did not need extreme rage to trigger his SSJ form. Vegeta was suprised by this.

    Lvl 2: Never did.

    Lvl 3: Never did.

    Lvl 4: Never did.

    Name: Goten

    Lvl 1: While training, like Chibi-Trunks, he also did not need extreme rage to trigger the SSJ form. Gohan was too suprised by this.

    Lvl 2: Never did.
