acquired centers Jamie Langenbrunner and Joe Nieuwendyk from the Dallas Stars in exchange for center Jason Arnott, right wing Randy McKay, and New Jersey's first round choice in the 2002 Entry Draft. The club also re-acquired right wing Stephane Richer from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a seventh round selection in the 2003 draft.
