Defiled Records News and Upcoming Releases

Fall of the Leafe from Finland has already finished recording its full-length album titled ' Evanescent, Everfading ' in Tico-Tico studios. Musically, Fall of the Leafe can be compared to Swedish bands like In Flames and Dark Tranquility , with strong, very epic and melodic compositions. However, its style has its own dimension as it also relies on dark and ambiental tones to give it a more obscure nature.

Another band that has recently signed to Defiled Records is Darken from Wyoming. A tentative MCD is scheduled for the end of the summer with a full-length release set at the end of the year. Unlike other Defiled Records releases which have been primarily ultra-heavy, fast and old school in nature, Darken veers more towards highly melodic, contemporary, and atmospheric black metal. It employs strong neo-classical influences and it features an extremely talented virtuoso guitarist. Musically, it is somewhat comparable to Arcturus and Gehenna's ' First Spell ', but with a darker and deeper ambience.

Inquisition from Washington has signed a one album deal with Defiled Records. It will be released during late October and it will be produced in collaboration with Moribund Records. The new material is very different from its ' Incense of Rest ' MCD , and although it retains its old-school black metal influences, it has now incorporated strong cult-like melodies and powerful, ambiental tones. Production will be much superior to any of its previous releases.

Finally, Num Skull will be setting up various shows in the Midwest, with a possible tour date scheduled for late summer. Num Skull may also release a new MCD later on this year, and it may feature some redone and brutalised songs from its classic album ' Ritually Abused'.
