Therion's "Lepaca Kliffoth" is definitely a change from "Symphony Masses/Ho Drakon Ho Megas". There are no traces of Death Metal on this release. The music is closer to Heavy Metal. "Lepaca Kliffoth" exhibits some slight similarities to Sepultura's "Chaos A.D.", especially the vocals. The music is very melodic and extremely diverse, with little repetition. Classical influences are obvious on this CD. Much of the music is orchestrated by keyboard, and female operatic vocals are common as well. One track even includes dueling male and female operatic vocals. "Lepaca Kliffoth" features some very unique and atypical interludes. This may not appeal to some Metal listeners, especially those who are seeking pure, unadulterated Metal. "Sorrows of the Moon", a Celtic Frost cover, features Anathema-like vocals. The title track features a powerful and melodic intro and ends with the band chanting "Lepaca Kliffoth" in rounds. The final track, entitled "Evocation of Vovin", features an innovative, classically influenced, orchestrated intro. The end of this track features some surprising Helloween-like guitar. Overall, "Lepaca Kliffoth" is an excellent CD; very diverse and innovative, as well as entertaining. I recommend this CD to those who would like to listen to something out of the ordinary every once in a while.

Therion's masterpiece, "Theli", is an epic and utterly unique work of powerful, classically inspired Heavy Metal incorporating authentic choral vocals, keyboard orchestration, neoclassical guitar melodies, some Gothic vocals, and clean male/female vocals. Nothing more needs to be said about this incredible release. "Theli" is an essential acquisition for those who have an appreciation of hybrids of Metal and Classical music.
