Geffen Conjures Up All-Star Brew For "Sabrina"
The soundtrack to the television show "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch", due Oct. 27 from Geffen, hopes to cast a spell for success with tracks by Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls ("Walk of Life," previously unreleased in the U.S.), Sugar Ray ( a cover of Steve Miller's "Abracadabra"), N Sync, Robyn, Aqua, Chumbawamba, Ben Folds Five, the Cardigans, Mathew Sweet ( a cover of "Magnet and Steel" featuring Linsay Buckingham and Susanna Hoffs), Phantom Planet, the Murmurs, Pure Sugar ( a cover of the Waitresses' "I Know What Boys Like"), Five, and Britany Spears. "Sabrina" stars Melissa Joan Hart, Nate Richert, and Lindsay Sloane add a rendition of Blondie's " One Way or Another" produced by former Blondie producer Richard Gottehrer. Several of the songs have been or will be used in the ABC series. There are also plans to have soundtrack artists appear in the coming season's episodes, as Backstreet Boys did last year.
