Nick: A Time To Laugh... And A Time To Cry!
Nick Carter is Backstreet Boys' "golden boy" who's in the spotlight onstage, but being the oldest kid in his family also gets him in the spotlight at home! We caught up with him recently and chatted him up about being a natural "ham" and the center of attention! It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it - although the intensity and sometimes makes him break out the hankies!

In the Backstreet Boys you are the youngest member but at home you are the oldest. Which do you prefer?

I like them both. When I'm at home I get into a totally different world but with the group it's totally opposite.

Does the group tease you because you're the youngest?

They used to tease me but now that I got a little bigger they don't do it anymore. But I like being the youngest member, and the attention.

How do you respond when people say "You're so lucky"?

Well, it's something I've been wanting to do every since I was really young. And it's something I worked for for a long time. And I think anybody can achieve their dreams, no matter what they want to do.

Can you tell us something about yourself?

I can be very sentimental.

Do you let yourself cry in private?

Well, I try not to.

What do you see when you look in the mirror in the morning?

I try not to look in the mirror that much.
