It's coming... it's coming soon
on your horizon... shine like the moon
your prayers answered... so take ahold
and everything will end up gold... for you
That's what they say to you
when you're feeling blue
that's what they say to me
when it's hard to breathe
and all is well and good
and of course it should be true
I know what's best for you
That's what they say (x4)
I know your pain... been there before
just throw the anger... right out the door
forget the past... live in the now
have faith in me and I will show you how... to soar
That's what they say to you
as if they feel it, too
that's what they say to me
when my time is free
and all is well and fine
now that you've taken time for me
you weren't supposed to leave
That's what they say (x4)
Trust me... I'm here for you
follow me... you'll make it through
take my hand... I'll be your guide
if anyone knows how you feel inside... I do
That's what they say to you
when you're feeling blue
that's what they say to me
when it's hard to breathe
and all is well and good
and of course it should be true
I know what's best for you
That's what they say (x4)

Background:
Music: I didn't mean to write this song! I swear! I was listening to Lisa Loeb of all people, and I was trying to mimic a song of hers... but I listened more closely and I was way off. Well, whatever I was playing sounded groovy. So I kept on jamming it... and here ya go. 3 parts, nicely interwoven and created on the same day. Main verse riff is light and fluffy, chorus is generic but ok, and the funky bridge is fun as hell. Now there's also a really neat breakdown between the second chorus and 3rd verse. It's strange that the music was almost fully in place before the lyrics had really begun. I figured out how to come out of the last verse... I think I'll just end it abruptly after the 3rd chorus/refrain. It's already about 3:30 or so long without anything else. Damn, this one came together pretty quickly, reminiscent of Feel Free.
Lyrics: "positive thinking, anyone?" Actually they kinda took a cynical turn, there. hmm. I dunno man, it just comes to me. I was thinking in general terms for the most part... about consolation, sincerity, etc. Or a lack thereof.
