The evil of Baron Blood was reborn through his great-nephew, Kenneth Crichton. Kenneth had turned down an opportunity to assume his grandfather's role as Union Jack, since he wasn't physically strong enough to be a costumed adventurer. Kenneth instead turned the mantle of Union Jack over to his friend Joey Chapman. Joey continues to serve as Union Jack to this day, and is a close friend of Kenneth's mother Jacqueline Falsworth Crichton--the former Invader known as Spitfire. Recently, Kenneth's health deteriorated. He seemed to be anemic, losing blood. Unbeknownst to Union Jack and Lady Crichton, Kenneth was slowly being drained of his blood by a woman calling herself the Baroness. The Baroness was devoted to preserving the memory of Baron Blood, and wanted to convert Kenneth into a vampire since he was the original Baron Blood's last living male descendant. The Baroness also wanted to use Kenneth to obtain the Holy Grail. This sacred object, she learned, would cure vampires of their need for blood and would make them invincible against day light and holy objects.
Thinking she was going to save him and make him strong, Kenneth gladly offered himself to the Baroness, and she transformed him into the second Baron Blood. As Baron Blood II, Kenneth battled his friend Joey (as Union Jack). Joey was able to save himself, but was unable to stop Kenneth from stealing the Holy Grail from a museum and getting it to the Baroness. Union Jack and the former Spitfire tracked the Baroness, Kenneth, and their gang of vampires to the location where they were to consume a potion from the Holy Grail. At daylight, all the vampires gathered together to test their cure. The Baroness drank from the sacred goblet, and found herself immune to the daylight. Not wanting to share her strength, she then crushed the Grail and the formula that would cure her allies. Betrayed by their mistress, the vampires found themselves trapped in the light of the rising sun. One of those present was Kenneth Crichton, as Baron Blood II. Realizing his mistake, Kenneth made amends with Joey as he died in his arms. Joey and Lady Falsworth buried Kenneth in his family plot next to his grandfather and uncle Brian (who had been the second Union Jack).
Unknown to Joey and Lady Falsworth, the Baroness had used Kenneth to make herself pregnant. She now carries the sole heir to the title of 'Baron Blood.' What will ultimately become of Kenneth's son is unknown.
