The Star-Gods (l-r:Froh, Donar, and Loga)were intergalactic travellers who crash-landed on Earth and were discovered by the mad(weren't they all?) Nazi scientist Brain Drain. Actually, it was the blast of their spacecraft when it landed that decimated Brain Drain's body. The aliens aboard the ship constructed his robotic body.
After reconstructing Brain Drain, the aliens (stupidly) showed him the Ring of the Nebulas, which enhanced mechanical devices and powered their ship. What they forgot was that Brain Drain himself was now a mechanical device! The ring augmented his brain waves and allowed him to put the aliens in a trance. He named them after characters in Richard Wagner's 'Ring' operas [Hitler's personal favorite] and sent the three males (Donar, Froh, and Loga) to battle the Invaders. Brunnhilde, the female alien, managed to fight Brain Drain's commands and escaped with the ring. 
Brunnhilde was discovered by the British, and was escorted by Captain America after she was drawn back to Brain Drain. He revealed who she was, and after regaining her memory she was furious! She threw the ring into a vat of acid and leapt into it. However, she wasn't killed. She summoned the other Star-Gods and they "willed" themselves into oblivion. The atomic radiation of the ring, mixed with the acid, caused Brain Drain's base to explode (shortly after the Invaders escaped). Whether or not such beings as the Star-Gods can truly be dead though is unknown.
