This is the page where I tell all of my likes and dislikes... just so you are warned!

I admire the following:
Frank Zappa - Frank was the man. A great musician/composer/conductor and if it wasn't for him (and The Ghoul and others) I doubt I'd be sane.
Jack Benny - A great comic. His timing (among other things) was impeccable. No one ever had a bad thing to say about Jack Benny. His show (radio and tv) will live on forever in the hearts of many, as will his memory.
Groucho Marx - What can said about Groucho that hasn't already been said? The master of quips bar none and I wish I could be as quick with them as he was.
FDR[2nd Link] - Yeah I know a lot of people didn't like him or his policies... or Eleanor, but the man served 3 terms and elected to a fourth for a reason. Mainly for things like "The only thing to fear is fear itself".
Buddy Holly - A genius shrouded in myth. He was comfortable with what radio wanted (two minute songs rather than three minute ones)and found untold emotional and rhythmic nuances within those constrictions. He played by the rules without letting them stop him.
The Beatles - The Fab Four! I grew up listening to a lot of Beatles music. I still listen. John Paul George and Ringo were just so much more than just a rock band, and if I have to explain why, then you truly don't get it.
Mom - Nuff said there!
Wile E. Coyote - He's probably the cartoon character with whom I most identify. If you have to ask why, then you don't get it.
Some other cool people:
Jack Kerouac - Jack inspired many of us to go "On The Road" and still does after all this time. The poems swing.
Lord Buckley -
Ernie Kovacs - A great comedian! His TV show with it's camerawork and skits still inspire the work of many people today long after his tragic death.
Firesign Theatre - Great comic troupe! Helped many people survive the 70's along with...
Monty Python - If there were a Beatles of Comedy, these guys would be it hands down! In a lot of ways, they helped "bond" a lot of people. Many times I'd go to a party or a show or somewhere with people... everyone feeling somewhat ill at ease... then someone says something... like "Nudge Nudge" or "I don't like Spam!" or anything from the Parrot sketch or Holy Grail and then all of a sudden, everyone would be quoting Python, thus breaking the ice. It gave us something in common when it wasn't thought possible. And besides... they were hysterical!!! :)
Some Favorite TV Shows:
Drew Carey Show - Funny show... and yeah I knew Drew way back when... I worked with him in a restaurant where he was a server (Yes he was funny then too), and there are those who remember him watching people at the Parma Kenny King's restaurant and writing things down in a spiral notebook. They thought him odd, but he was actually getting material for his act. And now look at him. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy... now for my Trent Reznor story...

Being called Howard - Look! My name is HAROLD! Not HOWARD! And no, Howard is NOT close enough, because that's not my name. How would you like it if I called you a different name from your own? Fruitopia! - How can the Coke people make such a vile product? Oh yeah... they did make "new Coke" , didn't they?
Record Companies - Do you think you people can LOWER THE PRICE OF CD's ALREADY????? Also... Do you think you people can give your artist better support and more $$$? After all these artists are your life blood and without them, you'd be zilch.
Snobs who hate it when one of "their bands" becomes popular - I, for one, would love it if a group like the Wipers or Jesus Lizard or Guided By Voices would have a hit CD and make millions. And I wouldn't worry if people who bought them "wouldn't understand the music".
Most Commercial "Alternative" Radio - So this is "alternative"? Cheesy pop, refried metal, fifth-rate punk, lukewarm ska? Some of it is good, but the rest of it...?
