The fight that ensues...

A fight for life on both ends?

Bullshit. This perception of everyone needing life, and life being the eternal greatness everyone strives to keep is pure bullshit.

As you feel his spirit wane, you fight even harder. Right before the deathblow, you hear him say, "finally, the curse is lifted in this eternal night."

and then it is dead.

what he meant, was, that he was put here for the same reasons as you: he valued, and therefore he was condemned to life. For some reason, he had it in for him, as he was not ony sentenced to live his term, but to live forever until someone relinquished him of it.

What does this all mean, in your moments of victory?
