Faction Zero was formed in January of 1993 by guitarist Chris D'Alessandro and drummer Bryan Essing. In mid 1993 try outs were held for a bass player and singer with Dave Urban and Rob Yadimnarco soon filling those spots respectively. Faction Zero then went on to make their first demo which allowed them to break into the NY/NJ hardcore scene. The first demo had not really been up to the expectations of the band members, so a second demo was made in 1995. This demo, recorded at the Mutiny Zoo studio, came out very good and created some serious breaks for Faction Zero. Songs from the 95 demo have appeared on many compilations, a movie soundtrack, a snowboard video and also on two 7"s released through Division Records. The first of these 7"s titled Inside has already been released and features the songs Choices, Age Of Violence, Inside and Liberation. The second 7" will be a split with the band Prejudice and should be out in early 1997. Thanks to the success of their demo and the recognition gained by playing with such bands as Madball, Dog Eat Dog, Cro Mags, Merauder, 25 Ta Life, and Warzone, Faction Zero came to the attention of IJT records in late 1995. IJT has since released Faction Zero's first full length CD Liberation in September 1996. Faction Zero's music is now available world wide. Faction Zero are quickly climbing to the top of the hardcore heap. It has even been rumored that Faction Zero will soon be signing a larger record deal... in which case their early recordings may become hard to find. So check out the Faction Zero Inside 7" and the split 7" which is coming soon. Check out their early recordings now, because in the future this stuff will surely be hard to get a hold of!
