1. My Command
Wish at my command
I hardly know where to stand
The picture is completed
The story is defeated

Say you will go out and do
Don’t hang around it will not prove
It will not prove

Don’t believe for a second that I can’t handle myself
Don’t believe for a second I don’t know where people are at
‘cause I’ve seen them in the gutter and I’ve seen them down and out
I know that some are bad right through
I’ve had a taste of that
I just cover my eyes and I get by.

Say you will go out and do
Don’t hand around it will not prove
It will not prove
I don’t believe that I’ll get caught by the witches in the wood
No I’m not a little Goldielocks or a red riding hood
I’ve come to get by this far
Through the serpent's den
Handled new revelations and I’ll do it once again
I just cover my eyes
And I get by.......

2. Man From The West

He came from the west
Shouted out to the whole damn world
He said "See how bad I am or how so tough"

He didn’t like to smile all that much
You see his jaw was so rugged and so damn tough
That it would smash like glass
Into to a million pieces
If he did.

He was a dreamer, this Billy the kid.

He taught me how to dress in fine black lace
Made me hate my body because of it’s shape
And dressed me in clothes that did not fit so well

He was a dreamer and he did it well
He was a dreamer and he did it well.

And he came from a place that didn’t laugh enough
Came from a place that didn’t cry enough
Came from a place that didn’t cry enough.

And he bragged about being a hedonistic sponge
Sucking up lots and giving out to none
And he burned everything that got in his way.

He was a dreamer and he did it well
He was a dreamer and he did it well.

3. Workers Lament

You ask me why
I don’t understand the way you feel
I don’t have the time
To understand myself at all

You don’t know what’s like
Not to have the time to think at night
You don’t know what it’s like
What it’s like

And you ask me
Why I don’t read your philosophies
I don’t have the time and hell I can’t even read

You don’t know what it’s like
Not to have the time to think at night
To come home to a fight at night ‘cause you can’t pay the bills
You can’t pay the bills.

I’ve had my inspiration
I’ve tried to touch the stars
I didn’t get that far
But I got a new car
And it’s fast.

And even now
You don’t understand what I mean
‘cause you don’t have the eyes
For anything but your very own needs

You don’t know what it’s like (repeat)
I’ve got to work again (repeat)

It’ll take some time but one day maybe I can change
But you have to change too.
Hell I think that's the least you should do.

What does it take for you to come down form the place that you put yourself on
To realise that I’m the foundation your life depends on.

You don’t know what it’s like
I can not read and I can not write
I can’t read the books that make you look around
If I did I wouldn’t have the time any how.

I can’t read, I can’t write, I can’t read I can’t write.

4. Private Wasteland

When you get to the middle of the outside looking in
And you think that maybe it’s easier not to look out from within
Hold on to your small mind feelings never look around
Take the view for certain and you’ll always go without

And you'll see where you are in the distance not far
‘cause you’re trapped where you are
You try to be so damn different
But you do nothing but stay just where you are.

Trapped inside your Private Wasteland
Don’t smell the sea don’t touch the ground
Have fantasies ties up with money
You have no sight or touch or smell.
Private Wasteland blistered sky
You smell the sea but you don’t know why
Hold it down can’t see for certain
You’re never going to make it but you don’t know why.

And you’ll see where you are in the distance not far.
‘Cause you’re trapped where you are
You try to be so damn different
But you do nothing but stay just where you are.

When you get to the middle of the black hole that you’ve made
You’ll find that you’ll remain there because there is no other way

Everything is stationery
Static life it does not move
In the darkness nothing grows there
In your life you’ll always be without

And you’ll see where you are in the distance not far
‘Cause you’re trapped where you are, not far
You try to be so damn different
But you do nothing but stay just where you are.....

5. Silver Sheen

I’ve seen a man dressed in purple glowing with a silver sheen
Looking out across the land and crying out to everything he’d seen
When will he appear.

I’ve seen a woman dressed in green holding the land or so it seemed
Looking out across the land and crying out at everything she’d seen.
When will she appear

I’m looking out in expectation waiting for the man to appear
I’m looking outward for that woman wherever she is
She's not here.

I’ve seen it not far
In a box behind a car
Where are you
When will you appear.

I’ve seen an old man looking out from his straw like hair
Wondering where his friends all were and why they didn’t care if he was
dead or alive
When will they appear

There’s an old woman lost and lonely
Never found her one and only
Realised a little late that there would never be a time or a place
For her love to appear.

I’m looking out in expectation waiting for that man to appear
I’m looking outwards for that woman wherever she is
She’s not here.
