Jello Biafra, Offspring Link For New Charity
Ex-Dead Kennedys front man Jello Biafra and Dexter Holland have announced the creation of F.S.U., a benefit foundation designed to provide support for social services, human rights, and the environment. Billboard Bulletin's Michael Amicone reports that F.S.U., dubbed Fuck Shit Up by Biafra and Freedom Starts Underground by Holland, has been established as a response to government budget cuts and "the selfish, mean-spirited attitude being encouraged in America today," according to Biafra. F.S.U. will sponsor periodic events, with the proceeds going to worthy organizations selected by the foundation's board of directors, which includes Biafra, Holland, the Offspring's Greg K., publicist Kristin Lange, and legal council Rick Stott. The first events to provide funds for F.S.U. are three concerts by the Offspring (June 29, June 30, and July 2); proceeds will go to AIDS Project Los Angeles, Poor People's United Fund, Trees Foundation, and Amnesty International.
