Manson, Bosstones, Rage, Offspring Pitch In For Hale House
So your collection of Marilyn Manson memorabilia just won't be complete without a prosthetic limb autographed by the shock rocker? Well, one fan will walk off with the prized device, and help out a worthy cause at the same time at a charity auction and concert set for New York City on June 29.
While it is not yet known precisely which limb Manson is donating, it is known that the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Sick Of It All, and Rage Against the Machine have also agreed to donate gear for the event. All proceeds from the auction and concert will benefit Hale House, a child care agency devoted to helping babies born with the HIV or addictions to drugs or alcohol.
Among the items already gathered for the auction include an autographed snowboard from the Offspring, an autographed tour jacket from the Descendents, autographed comics from Gwar, and an autographed golf set (featuring a tees, a ball, and one club) from NOFX's Fat Mike.
Concert headliners the Lunachicks (who also did a good deal of work organizing the event) have also kicked in their old stage wear for the auction. The group's frontwoman, Theo, will MC the evening, which will see sets from Weston, Furious George, Black Velvet Flag, Candy Snatchers, Snuka, Silent Majority, Shake Appeal, Sea Monkeys, and the Lunachicks among others. New York indie label Go-Kart, which is presenting the concert, is also promising sets from "surprise guests," and we'll keep you posted when more information becomes available.
The concert will be held at New York City's Tramps nightclub, and the benefit auction and label fair (featuring gear from Go-Kart, Moon Ska, Creep, Wreck-Age, Hopeless, IJT, and Devil Doll) will be held that the adjoining Tramp Cafe. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $12 the day of the show.
