The Offspring Joined by Jello Biafra at Benefit Concerts

The Offspring recently played three benefit concerts in California (June 30th in San Bernardino, July 1st in Fresno and July 2nd in Santa Cruz) to support The FSU Foundation. Jello jumped on stage with The Offspring and sang two Dead Kennedys songs, Holiday In Cambodia and Chemical Warfare, as well as a Jello/Mojo Nixon song, Burgers Of Wrath. Dexter and Jello also gave everyone in attendance some information about the FSU Foundation and some of the charities that the shows were benefiting.

The FSU Foundation was started by Jello Biafra, Dexter Holland and a number of other co-conspirators. It aims to promote economic justice, provide support to critical social services, help restore and maintain a healthy environment and defend human rights. FSU will sponsor periodic events for which funds are to be allocated through a series of one-time grants. These grantees will be selected by the foundation’s board of directors.

For these first concerts, four groups have been selected as the first beneficiaries of the Foundation. These groups represent each of the four FSU issue areas.

The Poor People’s United Fund is a Boston-based grassroots advocate for economic justice that assists those in serious financial hardship.

AIDS Project Los Angeles provides a massive array of services to those living with HIV/AIDS in the Los Angeles area. The Foundation’s donation will aid outreach to Spanish-speaking immigrants.

Trees Foundation is an organization set up similar to FSU. Trees donates funds to direct action environmental groups particularly in the Northern California area.

Amnesty International is a widely-acclaimed defender of human rights throughout the world. The Foundation’s donation will help them fight human rights violations right here in the USA.
