It's been nearly two years since The Offspring have graced the U.S. with their collective presence on a full tour, but now they're back. The band just came off six co- headlining Big Day Out festivals in Australia and New Zealand in support of their major- label debut Ixnay On The Hombre, released Tuesday (Feb. 4) on Columbia.
Their first five U.S. gigs will be at small clubs, starting Feb. 19 at the Paradise in Boston with the Joykiller and local bands supporting. Then the band will take AFI and Strung Out on the road for 10 gigs at larger clubs, starting in Orlando at the Embassy on Feb. 25. A Los Angeles date is not part of the routing. After those dates, the Vandals and the Lunachicks will tour with the band on a slew of European gigs. Oh, and as we told you before, don't expect Dexter Holland's trademark long, blonde braids flailing about onstage this time around. The singer's now sporting a mighty fine short, spikey new 'do.
For the exact tour itinerary, check out the band's new Web site at www.offspring.com. Dubbed "The Offspring Guide To Web Anarchy," their site features a "radio station," in which fans can choose the playlist from current and past Offspring albums.
