Here's the interview Noodles did with GUITAR. They asked him about appearing on MOM 2. NOTE: Dirty Magic was supposed to be on the album, but due to a mistake, Get It Right was put on instead.
1. How did you get involved and why is MOM worth
supporting?
-I don't think we can continue raping the planet
indiscriminately and hope to live as well as we
have been allowed to so far. The oceans give us
life, we should be careful how we treat them.
More selfishly, I want there to be plenty of
waves and fish to catch when I'm old enough to
retire!
2. How did you choose the song?
-We wanted to pick a song that was worthy of the
project, but also one that the average Offspring
fan didn't already have, so we picked 'Dirty
Magic' from our lesser known album, Ignition.
3.Describe the guitar's role in surf music.
-The guitar, when played well, can be a very
fluid sounding instrument, especially when
soaked in reverb. Beyond that, I can't explain
it. You hyst have to relax and enjoy the music
to understand.
4. Your favorite surf song and/or band?
-My favorite surf song is 'Droppin' In On
Barney' by 'Too Many Humans'
