EVERCLEAR/Hagfish/Menthol

On April 22, 1996 at the Avalon in Boston, MA. I saw my first Everclear show. I went with my really cool aunt( who happens to have her own band) because my sister was suppose to go with me I only got 2 tix. She decided at the day before she didn't want to go. None of my friends liked Everclear well none of em that could drive at least. Anyway we left my house at 5:30 the doors opened at 7:30, she had to do a couple things before we were actually on our way. By the time we actually got on the highway it was like 6:45. We got into Boston and there was mad traffic and we got lost. Found a parking lot and then walked to the club. Menthols was the first band and was on the second to last song when I got there. From what I heard they were OK. Hagfish went on next, We were standing in the back kind of off to the side the crowd was totally dead through both acts. Finally Everclear came on around 9:45 There was a huge pit. People were crowd surfing and throwing people on top of the crowd surfers. I didn't crowd surf because I am afraid of like being grabbed in various parts of my anatomy or being dropped. I did mosh. I forget what they opened with. At the end they said bye and everybody started leaving then they came back out and played "Santa Monica", "Pale Green Stars". I forget the whole set list. I'm pretty sure they did all of World of Noise all of Sparkle and fade except "Queen of the air" The did "American Girl", "Annabella's song", "Sin City", "Pacific Wonderland" When the crowd started to mosh all the younger kids that were there with there moms were being pulled aside by them. I did a lot of jumping and moshed a little. I didn't have a good view. They left again and so did most of the crowd but I had decided to go up front. Then they came back out and played like 2 songs I was to the left of the stage not a close I would have liked. It was really fun. We left at like 10:50 I wish I could have stayed to try to meet them and I got home at 12:30.
