Alice in Chains

A metal band from Seattle.Definitely not part of the "grunge" scene that emerged from Seattle in the early 90s.A really dark, depressing band. They've been described as...
"Music to slit your wrists to..."
That's actually a fairly good description!!!:)

Albums
Facelift:The first(and my personal fave) Alice in Chains album.Little known except among AIC fans.
Dirt:The album that thrust them into the lime-light.The song "Them Bones" was their first major success. The album was written when lead singer, Layne Staley, was struggling with a drugs problem. As such, lyrically, the album is very depressing and dwells alot on death.
Jar of Flies/Sap:Alice in Chains at their most stripped down. This is a double album of acoustic music.Sap was released in 89 in America but never in Europe until the Double album.
Alice in Chains:Rumoured to be the last Alice in Chains studio album. Not as good(in my opinion) as Facelift or Dirt.Despite this, it still debuted at No.1 in the American charts.
Unplugged:An amazing performance. For me, probably the best unplugged performance of any band.
