Kelly sat back in her chair and stretched widely. A few small bones in her back clicked into place and she sighed in relief.
She grabbed her cup of coffee and took a sip of the lukewarm substance, glancing at her clock.
"Well, well. 5:32AM. You've done yourself a doozy, Kell," she murmured to herself. She set the cup back down and took off her glasses, and wiped her tired eyes.
'At least I finally finished this thing', she thought as she subconciously read over the last few paragraphs in front of her. It all checked out.
Kelly reached over and stuck a disk into the computer and saved the 35th chapter. The machine hummed and buzzed and then stopped. She removed the disk and shut down the computer.
Kelly stood and dug through the mountain of papers on her desk to find the envelope.
"Where is that damn thing?" she asked aloud in the silent room. She found the padded envelope and stuck the disk in with its 23 other mates. She then dug around some more and found the notepad with all the details Mrs. Maine had scribbled for her. She put that in the envelope as well, and sealed it loosely.
Kelly stretched once again and sighed, feeling as if a load had been taken off her back. It was hard, after all, being commisioned to write a biography for someone.
She smiled and thought of the middle aged woman that had approached her at the Tribune.
The tall, thin woman approached her with an air of importance. "Kelly Grear?"
Kelly nodded. "Yes?"
The woman held out her hand to be shook. "Hello. I have read your work and I am interested in asking if you would like to document a biography for me."
Kelly nodded slowly. "Who's life is this?"
The woman smiled slightly. "My parents. Kristen Harmont and Taylor Hanson."
Kelly nodded again. Those 2 names rang familiar. Hang on, Hanson... "Hanson? As in that group from ages ago?"
The older woman laughed gently. "Yes. I'm Kaylee Harmont-Maine, their daughter."
Kelly smiled again and slipped into her nightdress. She had not been keen to do another biography for anyone, but Mrs. Maine's case was interesting. She had enjoyed documenting her parent's lives.
She patted the envelope one last time and slipped into bed next to Micheal, who muttered something in his sleep and shifted closer to her. She wrapped her arms around him and promptly fell asleep. But not before her last thought was if Mrs. Maine would be satisified with The Zodiac Line...
