CHAPTER THIRTEEN

I browsed through the racks, eyeing the guy who stood behind the counter.

"Not bad. Not bad at all." I murmured, wishing he'd turn around a bit.

Moving on, trying to get a good view of his profile, I ran into a rack of jeans. I pulled out a pair, and held them against me, wondering how'd they look on me. Just then I heard the voices from the dressing room.

"Well, like, no, Josh." Giggle. "It's just too... big, don't you think?" Sheila asked her new boyfriend, twirling around in a way too small top, eyeing herself in the mirror.

My nerves grated. She was the bitch who stood Taylor up.

"Hmm? No." Josh replied, looking bored.

My blood boiled, and I strode from behind the safety of the rack, barely realizing what I was doing.

Josh turned and eyed me appreciatively, but I ignored him.

"Sheila?" I said sweetly.

Sheila turned and hid her startled look with a lazy smile. "Well, if it isn't Miss Priss... I mean, Miss Kris."

I nodded, my smile frozen on my face.

"Well, I hear Taylor is coming back. Can you give him my number-" but Sheila stopped when the fist jammed into her face. She keeled over, blood gushing from her nose.

"You bitch!" I spat down at the prone girl. "You had no right to treat Taylor that way!" I stared hard at the girl, and turned, shoving by a stunned Josh.

"Um, excuse me?" said the cute boy.

"Yeah?" I snapped.

"You have to pay for those." he motioned to the pair of jeans in my arms.

"No. I don't want them." I said, flipping the pants onto the counter and leaving.
