CHAPTER FIFTEEN

As soon as the plane touched ground, I was out of my seat like a shot. "Just gotta be freeeeeeee!" I sang into the faces of the business class passengers. "Just gotta be meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!" I yelled, dancing away with my carry-on luggage banging behind me.

Jamie furrowed her brows, and said to the angry passengers: "At least she's not a drunk Oasis band member."

I ran down the ramp, and nearly banged heads with Zac Hanson. "Outta my way, missy! I gotta get picked up by some guys!"

Zac laughed, and reached up to yank my hair.

He'd grown, I noticed. He was taller than me, even.

"Been eating your jello?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"No wonder. Big man at 13, eh?" I asked, walking around him, eyeing him with my eyebrows raised.

"Hey! I'm taken!" he protested.

"By whom?" I asked, acting jealous.

"Foo Foo." he said, eyes serious.

"Foo Foo the Wonder Dog?" I laughed.

"Uh huh. Don't laugh; you'll hurt her feelings." he said. "Well, where's-" he stopped as Jamie lumbered down the ramp, loaded down.

"If Jessica makes me do that one more time, I swear I'll-" she cursed, lumbering a suitcase sized carry-on, no doubt full of Jessie's must haves. (Make up, magazines, GameBoy, CD's, pad, pencils, paper, etc.)

I laughed at Jamie, and turned back to Zac, but he was too busy staring. At Jamie.

"Albertane to Zac, Albertane to Zac." I beeped at him.

"Yeah?"

"She's Jamie, man."

"Yeah." he whispered.

"Oh, God. At least your hormones are working." I sighed, not bothering to tell him Jamie had a very good friend back home.

Jess pranced down the ramp, humming. "Oh, hey, Zachary." she said.

"Hi Jessica." he said, bored.

"Fine. Where's the rest of your brood?" she asked, looking around.

"Back at the ranch."

"Huh?" she asked, not following.

"Hotel... dummy..." he whispered, and I laughed.

"They let you come to the airport yourself?!" Jamie asked, balancing a bag.

"Yeah. I'm not so young anymore." he boasted. Jamie raised her 14 year old eyebrows, and glanced at the guards. "Uh huh."

"So, let's go." I suggested, noticing the growing crowd, and the occasional hormonal scream from female fans of Hanson.

We started off, Zac waving nonchalantly, chatting with us. Making it to the carousel, we grabbed me and Jamie's suitcase, and Jessie's 4.

Zac's eyes widened. "How the hell did you get past Luggage with that many?" he asked.

"Jamie and Kris pass them off as theirs." Jessica explained.

We tried to keep order, but with 6 suitcases we were loaded down. Finally, we had to accept a guard's offer of help.

I sighed as I pushed through the crowd, and ignored the flashing of cameras. Someone had a picture to souvenier a rare moment with Zodiac and a Hanson out in public. Whoopdidoo.

Making it to the large van, we piled inside, and the driver zoomed off.

"London, eh?" I murmered, looking out the window. "Pommyland." I sighed as she popped open a can of Coke. Jessica gagged, remembering the cat episode.

"Yeah." Zac said. "Would you like a scone? Or perhaps a biscuit?" he mocked, and I snorted my Coke up my nose, laughing.

"Yuck, Kris." Jessica made a face.

"Bet that hurts." Zac commented.

"It does, but Jess loves it." I said, wiping the Coke dribbling from my nose with a tissue.

Zac stared at Jess.

"She's lying." she said.

When I cleaned up, I said to Jessica seriously: "You do know that snorting soda pop up your nose is very healthy? It clears your nasal passages. Like a colon cleansing, if you want."

Jessica snorted, not believing a word I said.

"See? You can do it! It's on one of your magazines. I swear. Go look." I told her, and that clinched it.

Jess leaned over and began tearing through her magazines to find proof of this latest fad. Me and Zac exchanged winks.

"'You're the one
and you know it
but why deny it?
because it's destiny.
We're forever tied,
and you know it,
So just trust me this once,
and leave our fate with
Destiny."

Jamie sang softly, looking out the window.

"What's with her?" Zac whispered over the humming of the van.

"Just practising." I said, realizing for the first time that Jamie was doing all she could to keep herself together...
