CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

We all trudged to the elevator, out of the elevator, and into the room. I collapsed onto a small trundle bed, and snoozed. "Kris? We're going out for while. Later." someone told me, but I ignored it. I fell asleep, lulled by water running... I walked out of the room. I didn't know where I was. I just walked out, and to the place. A place. There lay a person. They were familiar, and I turned them over.

Grief poured over me...

"Kris!" someone was yelling.

I opened my eyes to find dark brown ones staring into mine.

"Are you okay?" Isaac cried. "You screamed, and were crying."

I sat up groggily, and wiped my face, but the tears wouldn't stop. My chest felt painful, and I cried harder.

Gingerly, Isaac reached out and held me. "The others are off somewhere. Didn't ask them where. They left me in the shower."

We sat talking quietly, and I finally stopped crying.

The door flung open, and the others trouped in, yelling and singing. When I saw her, my eyes flooded again.
