I opened my eyes painfully. The light flared behind my eyes and I shuddered. The noise...
Someone coughed. "Hey Kris."
"Tay?" I asked the ceiling, wishing I could get up.
"Yeah." he stood and looked down at me.
My eyes flooded at hearing his voice and seeing his face. "Hi." I sniffed painfully, the tubes in my nose uncomfortable.
He smiled sadly, blue eyes serious.
"I feel... like shit." I mumbled.
He laughed. "You look it."
I made an attempt at a face, ignoring the pain in my nose and the feeling that my face was mush. Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see a huge bandage on my nose, and my left leg propped up on something. I figured my arm looked like the same huge mass of plaster.
My arm felt dead.
"I want up." I said sleepily.
Taylor hesitated. "You can't."
"Who said?" I asked, gazing blankly at the IV in my arm.
"Doctors." he answered.
"Fuck 'em." I sighed as I thought about yanking the itchy tubes out of my arms.
He chuckled softly. "I had no doubt you'd say that."
"How's Jamie? Jess?" I yawned slightly.
He blinked and looked away. "They're fine, Kris. They're fine."
