the xenos arrow splendid music giveaway
well, kids, we laughed, we cried, it was much better than "Cats" and we'd do it all over again: the xenos arrow splendid music giveaway has ended, and the winner is a lad named Todd Longo. If you'll remember, pretty much any entry was fair game, and this one definitely drew the hardest laughs (i'm not sure if they were at the story, or the idea we should cover a Marcy Playground song), so it won. Now Todd, you're not answering emails, so if you see us, drop a line, would ya? Here it is:
Hey, I think I saw you guys play a couple of times but can't remember the venue thanks to Budweiser beer. Anyway, I do remember I liked it alot and thought
I would throw an idea your way. Your bass player, the tall blond haired guy who always looks unhappy I think his name is Texas or something, you should do
a song about him. The song would be how he fell in love with Marilyn Monroe but she was reincarnated into a monkey's body. He dresses her up in a wig and
little dresses and takes the monkey dancing. In the end, he is so fed up with his friends laughing at him that he butchers the monkey, puts him in a soup,
and then gives his friends the soup. After they are done eating the monkey soup, he laughs and tells them what he did and then chases everyone with a big
weedwhacker. It could have the sound of that song "sex and candy" and go something like this: Hangin' round, the Cellar by myself, and I've had too much
time, to sit here thinkin' bout the Blonde, and there it was, with hair all on her arms, yeah there it was , my Monkey Superfly......
I think it will work. Anyway, good luck with the song and I look forward to hearing your feedback on the idea. Todd Longo
Contest Rules
okay, friends, here goes our first little giveaway. now the idea is this: you send us some ideas; they can be for songs, shows, whatever, and we'll see what transpires. this can be anything; the point is to get some communication going on. i'll look over whatever (if anything) comes in, and the coolest response will win something. probably a song. now we have an album's worth of songs recorded, so one of those may be the "grand" prize. if it's really neat, maybe i'll write a new song, inspired by whatever is sent our way. i'm not positive what the prize is, but that's in part because i can't predict what you're gonna send in. i can't even guarantee the entire band's participation, but i promise i'll see this through. anyhow, that's it. so start thinking, and let us know what you come up with. email us at xenosarrow@hotmail.com. multiple entries are totally encouraged, and anything is fair game. don't die wondering...
